The comic below was originally intended as a handout for my booth at art fairs. Consider this temporary.
Q: Why 'LAB Ideas?'
A: It's not really a great name for an art business, I admit. I started drawing comics and picture books under the (then-fake) publishing name LAB Ideas when I was about 7 years old, and I never stopped. Somewhere along the way I made it officially the umbrella name for all of my art endeavors. I'm basically using it still to make the 7-year-old version of myself happy.
Q: What's the awkward text-based bio from your previous website?
A: (Ahem.) Hi, my name is Lucas Antoniak, and I'm a self-taught artist, illustrator, and cartoonist. I live with my wife and kid in the sticks of Tennessee. My preferred mediums are pen-and-ink and watercolor, but I sometimes use acrylics, draw/paint digitally, and occassionally dabble in block printing and screen printing. A lot of my art is inspired by... I dunno. You know, it really just kinda happens. Besides art and comics, my interests include punk music, podcasts, non-fiction books, paleontology, documentaries, and generally being outside.
